Abstract : An I.B.M. 7090 program has been prepared which will compute the equivalent moment matrix or covariance matrix at the point of injection for any number of tracker measurements. The most essential single element in the computational procedure of the program is the formation of the matrix of partial derivatives, P. To facilitate this computation there are three separate types of input which can be accepted by the program. They are: (1) Input a series of incremented simulation runs by which partial derivatives can be formed. (2) Input the actual derivatives associated with specific times and measurements. (3) Input the constants necessary to compute the partial derivatives from analytic formulas for the two-body problem. These partials are usually accurate to about four digits in the vicinity of the earth or in the vicinity of the moon. (Author)
