Abstract : Persons subjected to the action of chronic small doses of ionizing radiation show in a number of cases changes in the fluorescence picture of the blood. This is manifested by the appearance of cells with yellow and orange luminescence of the nuclei. A relation was noted between the frequency of changes in the fluorescence of cells and the radiation dose. Persons working in conditions where the permissible dose is exceeded show more frequent fluorescence changes than do those whose working conditions observe the sanitary hygienic norms. Fluorescent microscopy can serve as an auxiliary method in the early diagnosis of radiation injuries, together with the other morphological methods of studying peripheral blood. (Author)
