Abstract : Thermal stress distribution in a thin circular cylindrical shell caused by its nonuniform heating is examined. The shell is isotropic, the temperatures inside and outside the shell are different and vary along the longitude of the shell, and with time. Determining the temperature at any point of the shell is reduced to solving the heat-conductivity equation which satisfies the boundary and initial conditions. (Author)
