Abstract : Pulses appearing on the field tubes of a proportional counter have been used to identify and cancel anode pulses due to tracks located near the end boundary of the active volume. Spectra from a collimated alpha source and from the 3He(n,p)3H reaction are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the technique in eliminating end effect. (Author)
