Abstract : A block diagram of an astatic voltage stabilizer is given. The stability of the output voltage from this circuit is determined by the stability of the pedestal frequency f sub 0 and the operating stability of the frequency converter. The pedestal frequency is stabilized by using a quartz oscillator. However, the stability of conventional transistorized relaxation oscillators with magnetic coupling used as frequency converters is less than 0.1%. Frequency, converters of this type are also limited in possibilities for controlling output voltage at a constant pedestal frequency. The author shows that these disadvantages may be overcome by using an inductive relaxation oscillator based on a tunnel diode.
