Abstract : Two etching reagents have been developed which produce pits on the (111) clevage surface of arsenic. In addition, a chemical polish has been developed for arsenic. Evidence has been obtained that the pits occur at sites of emergence of dislocations. Some observations on deformed crystals are also reported and discussed. (Author)
