Abstract : The effect of the velocity of a freely falling aerosol droplet upon its diffusion-controlled growth rate is evaluated. It is found that the velocity of the droplet in the diffusion field does not significantly accelerate its growth unless the radius of the particle exceeds .010 cm. Thus it appears that the effect of the gravitation fall of aerosol droplets during their growth from the supersaturated vapor may be safely neglected. (Author)
