Abstract : Liquid and solid nutrient media were employed in a comparative experimental study of the antimicrobial properties of certain fabrics and fibers. The solid media yield more distinct results and provide quantitative indices of the antimicrobial activity. The modified dish print method allows both a determination of the degree of antimicrobial activity and a differentiation between the bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects. (Author)
