Abstract : The article deals with free-molecular flows. In the first part the flowing around of convex bodies is discussed. Experiments are performed theoretically using a cylinder, sphere and flat plate to show stabilization of aerodynamic characteristics. In the next selection the flowing around of concave bodies is examined, which is followed by discussion of free-molecular flows in tubes. The measurement of pressure in free-molecular flow is dealt with as well as flows which are close to being free-molecular. In subsequent sections there is examined the following: molecular boundary layer, reciprocity theorem for flows close to being free-molecular, comparison of theoretical and experimental data on flows at large Knudsen numbers, and outflow into a vacuum.
