Abstract : A brief description is presented of the Minsk-2/22 logic structure, its parameters and command systems. By the Minsk-2/22 is meant either the Minsk-2 or Minsk-22. The machine operates with numbers having both a fixed and floating decimal point with a grid containing 37 bits. The special feature of the computer is the maximum utilization of arithmatical registers during all transmission of information between elements of the machine. The information is transmitted over 4 types of code leads: leads for the number, address, output, and address of input-output. Data are fed into the machine from a photoelectric reading mechanism, punched card input mechanism, page telegraph equipment, and a control computing device. The operating cycle of the machine is divided into several stages. The selection of stages is determined by the type of command. The maximum cycle consists of 6 stages and constitutes 144 microseconds. The nominal performance of the machine when operating with a fixed decimal point is 5600 operations per second and 5050 operations per second with a floating decimal point. The magnetic working memory has a capacity of 4096 words. (Author)
