Abstract : The study deals with the response of multilayered composite thin cylindrical shells in vacuo and the associated radiated farfield pressure in an infinite acoustic medium. The shells considered are three- and five-layered ones, vibrating under surface harmonic line and ring loads. The alternated isotropic layers, placed symmetrically about the middle surface of a shell, are made of aluminum and viscoelastic materials, such as natural rubber and synthetic polymers. (Author)
