Abstract : The report discusses a detailed study of the effect of all the process and powder variables on the mechanical properties of porous sintered (316L) stainless steel parts. The variables were identified and their specific levels were determined. Controlled experiments were conducted following a fractional factorial design; the resulting data were analyzed with a suitable computer program on the IBM 7094 computer to develop individual response equations relating to chosen dependent variables with selected independent variables.
