Abstract : A method is described whereby a relatively narrowband (8/cm) source of radiation, which is tunable over most of the visible and near infrared spectral regions, can be generated. Tuning curves and power/wavelength curves are presented. The dependence of tunable output power on crystal length was also investigated. This latter investigation provided indirect evidence for the phenomenon of beam-trapping. The mechanism and potential of this tunable source are discussed. (Author)
