Abstract : The effect of inorganic nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) on the photosynthesis of algae is discussed. Special tests were set up to determine the effect of nitrogen and phosphorus on the growth of cultures, photosynthesis, the formation of albumins and chlorophyll. By varying the amount and ratios of the inorganic nutrients given to various algal species (Scenedesmus obliqus, Sc. quadricauda, Chlorella vulgaris, etc.) as well as the length of their availability, the transformations caused in the plants are determined and the possibilities of increasing the general production of the organic mass in algae in natural and artificial conditions and their metabolism are established.
