Abstract : The purpose of the study is to outline the East Europe communist record from 1964 to 1968 and to make some tentative predictions about the future of Soviet relations with East Europe, which appear to follow from it. It is asserted that the Soviet leadership's view of its interests in East Europe encompasses the Soviet concepts of internationalism, security, and legitimacy.
