Abstract : Starting from the basic equations of thermoelasticity and from the fundamental laws of thermodynamics, an analysis is performed in order to search general forms, particularly suitable for applicative aims in thermomechanic problems, giving the thermodynamic potentials of isotropic elastic media submitted to reversible processes. Simple relationships are found, giving the entropy and the thermodynamic potentials as functions of only 3 significant and properly chosen local state variables. Applications to elastostatic systems are performed and resolutive relations are given for the solution of some practical problems. (Author)
