Abstract : Insects are well known as suitable objects for neurophysiological and ethological studies. The investigation presented deals with two topics in the field of insect behavior and insect neurophysiology: With a description of the different sounds in some tropical Tettigonids; and with the function of command fibres in the ventral nerve cord of males of Gastrimargus africanus (Oedipodinae) studied by splitting techniques.
