Abstract : The atomic magnetic susceptibility of Mn dissolved in Cu, Ag and Au has been determined in the approximate range 10-300 degrees K for alpha-phase polycrystalline alloys with solute concentrations ranging from 19-284 atomic ppm. The results can be well described by a Curie-Weiss law from which the mean values of the effective Bohr magneton values are given for Mn in Cu, Ag and Au respectively, and the mean values of the paramagnetic Curie temperature are respectively -14, 0 and -7K. The data have been fitted to an expression by Scalapino for the solute susceptibility from which have been obtained estimates of the Kondo temperature. (Author)
