Abstract : An objective technique has been developed for estimating the probability of occurrence of solar flares in a particular sunspot group using both the size of the sunspot group and its 'flariness'. Tables are given which indicate the probability that at least one flare of importance two or greater will occur tomorrow, given the area and flariness of the sunspot group today. (Author)
