Abstract : In the cooling of gas turbine rotors by passing air through the clearances in the blade roots, a substantial portion of heat transfer (up to 55%) takes place in a channel provided at the blade root. The purpose of the investigation was to determine the hydraulic resistance coefficients for a slit-type clearance and for a channel provided at the top section of the blade root. Since the hydraulic resistance coefficients are applicable only in the investigated range of geometrical dimensions and for the determining parameters, additional studies should be conducted to more accurately determine the air flow. It is desirable to increase the variation range of the split and the channel and to study other configurations. (Author)
