Abstract : During February and March 1967, oceanographic observations taken by the R/V ALAMINOS east of the Galapagos Islands and north of 15 degrees S covered the region more completely than previous cruises. The Equatorial Undercurrent was present as two branches, one north and the other south of the equator. This study deals with the circulation and water in the region south of the equator. They are studied by means of vertical sections, station curves, and distributions of properties on isanosteric surfaces from 120 to 280 cl/t. At selected locations volume transports are calculated.
