Abstract : A spectroscopic method employing steady-state optical techniques is described to detect spin polarization and to determine the most probable route of the intersystem crossing process in phosphorescing molecules. The method is based on observing changes as a function of temperature (at low temperatures) in the relative intensity of the vibronic bands of the phosphorescence spectrum. (Author)
