Abstract : The heat transfer of an incompressible, electrically-conducting liquid in steady-state laminar motion is considered, with isothermal channel walls formed by parallel plates. The effect of a transverse, homogeneous magnetic field on the heat transfer is shown, with a constant flow of the medium and constant pressure drop. An appreciable dependence of the temperature of the fluid flow and of the Nusselt's heat-transfer number on the magnitude of the external magnetic field and on the electrical conductivity of the channel walls was established.
