Abstract : At Weston, Massachusetts (42 degrees N., 71 degrees W.) satellites BE-B and BE-C, providing both North-South and East-West passes, were observed on frequencies of 20, 40 and 41 MHz. Fourteen independent signal amplitude and phase parameters contained Doppler shift, Faraday rotation and incidence angle measurements which were analyzed with new methods to obtain reliable values of the ionospheric electron content. For ionospheric D-region studies a coordination of different theoretical approaches and experiments has been attempted including construction of a Loran-C receiving system which has been used for reception of 300 kHz during an eclipse in Brazil.
