Abstract : The report describes research on the effects of the degree of fidelity of training devices on acquisition, retention, and retraining of the ability of low mental aptitude personnel to perform as operators of a Nike-Hercules guided missile system. It also integrates new experimental findings with data from previous studies in this series. The report will be of interest to military personnel concerned with training and training devices, especially for procedural tasks, and to those concerned with training and utilization of mental category 4 personnel.
