Abstract : Relative band intensity measurements have been made for certain (0,0) and (0,1) bands of oxygen at 1.27 microns and 1.58 microns, respectively, and for certain (0,0), (0,1), and (0,2) bands of oxygen at 7619 A, 8645 A, and 9970 A, respectively. The (0,2) band of the singlet sigma (g)(+) - triplet sigma (g)(-) system of oxygen has been observed for the first time. Emission was also observed from the (1,0) and (1,1) bands of this system. The observed relative band intensities are compared to those of earlier workers and to relative intensities calculated from theoretical Franck-Condon factors. (Author)
