Abstract : The study is concerned with the effect of retinal eccentricity on the magnitude of the horizontal-vertical illusion, which is the overestimation of vertical extents relative to horizontal extents. The present study examines the question directly by presenting the usual horizontal-vertical 'L' pattern in the near periphery. (Author)
