Abstract : Electron spin resonance techniques were used on two systems (yttria and thoria) which thermoluminescence under U.V. irradiation. In the case of a very pure ThO2 crystal, it was possible to identify the electron and hole traps which empty or fill in a particular temperature and give rise to the thermoluminescence. Possible thermoluminescent centers are discussed. (Author)
