Abstract : The three-dimensional vectorial equation defining the proportional navigation law is linearized. It is shown that, with a proper choice of the reference system, the three resultant equations are formally identical. The effect of small perturbations on the linearized trajectory is then examined. Afterwards the guidance loop is briefly analized in the complex field. The whole study is merely kinematic. (Author)
