Abstract : This report presents a FORTRAN IV computer program for calculating the response of an electrical filter to an arbitrary input, e.g., a transient. The program utilizes the fast Fourier transform, which is a time-saving computational technique for transforming a time function to a frequency function (or vice-versa) by means of discrete Fourier transform. Details are given on the procedure for setting up the card decks, which are used to feed in data on the input waveform and the circuit parameters of the filter. Examples are given, including the case of a hypothetical power-line filter driven by a triangular pulse. (Author)
