Abstract : The LG-55 is a source of coherent monochromatic visible radiation intended for use in precision optical range finders, for the investigation of optical modulators, for quality control, for adjustment of optical systems, and for various scientific purposes. The laser consists of an optical resonator (mirrors in adjustable mounts) and an active element (gas discharge tube) in a three-rod mounting placed in a protective jacket. The laser operates in a multimode regime, but its spectrum does not have any difference frequencies in the range 1 -- 50 MHz. The emission wavelength is 6328 angstrom unit, the output power not less than 2 mW. The LG-56 is similar to LG-55 but has higher mechanical and thermal stability.
