Abstract : This Author's Certificate introduces a method for making jet engine nozzles from tubular stock. The finished part consists of a ribbed copper alloy jacket with a refractory steel liner welded to its inner surface. To improve productivity and nozzle quality, the sleeve is formed and welded to fit the jacket which is prestamped by some process such as explosive forming with simultaneous pressing of the ribbed outer surface.
