Abstract : Specimens were subjected to the preliminary action of periodic loadings of different duration at stresses which exceed the fatigue limit of the material and are known from ordinary fatigue experiments. The specimens were then under a nonuniform stressed state (bending). After the preliminary loading, the specimen was made to fail statically in plane cantilever bending. As a result, the experimental dependence of the static bending strength on the number of preliminary periodic loadings was obtained. (Author)
