Abstract : The document reports the results of an information blank study which demonstrates that biographical data commonly found in employment application blanks and in certain personality tests can be used to identify a person's race, sex, and religion. If biographical information items are not related to job performance, these items can effectively accomplish a general screening task without reducing the range of talent availability. Furthermore, it is possible to create such a screening instrument for race, sex and religion on an a priori basis. (Author)
