Abstract : Differences in triplet lifetime between alpha and beta deuterated naphthalenes are calculated in good agreement with experiment. The calculation is based on vibronic spin-orbit coupling involving sigma pi* and pi sigma* states together with CH out-of-plane bending modes. (Author)
