Abstract : The study provides statistical cost estimating relationships based on simple and multiple regression analysis for educational facilities, dormitories, hospitals, and similar buildings. Expressions are derived to give results in 1967 dollars in New York City with adjustment factors given for cost trends to 1972 and for 60 geographic locations. The statistical properties of the estimating expressions are also discussed. Observed data for 182 existing buildings were analyzed in developing the cost estimating relationships. Analyses were performed using total construction cost as the dependent variable, and several physical, performance, and economic conditions as the independent variables. Simple and multi-variate estimating equations were developed for each type of building considered. (Author)
