Abstract : Comparisons were made between plain instrument cover glass used on aircraft instrument panels and cover glass deposited with multilayer antireflection coating conforming to MIL-C-14806 and AMS 2521. Photometric measurements of reflections, light transmission and contrast indicated the effectiveness of the reflection-reducing coating. Reflected glare from the face of instruments was significantly reduced by the reflection-reducing coating and increased light transmission enhanced contrast on instrument dial faces. (Author)
