Abstract : The possibility was studied of electrolytically depositing Ni-Fe alloys with Ti from solutions of their simple salts by using lactic acid for decreasing the activity of the Fe group metals and inhibiting during electrolysis the formation of basic Ti compounds, which hinder the alloy formation. High-grade precipitates of Ni-Ti alloys in the presence of complexing additions of lactic acid, produced by electrolysis, contain not more than 0.2 percent titanium. In precipitates of an Fe-Ti alloy the quantity of titanium is several times greater. Results of the experiment indicates that the amount of titanium in alloys with nickel and iron depend on the stability of their complex compounds with lactic acid and their normal potentials.
