Abstract : The basic problems of steam and gas turbine blade theory are presented. Methods of calculating the aerodynamic characteristics of limited and unlimited blade-length cascades are given, along with the theoretical basis for selecting the permissible roughness of a blade surface. The effect of surface roughness on energy losses in cascades was also covered. The characteristics of the working medium's flow in the cascades at supersonic speeds are dealt with, and a theory for calculating relatively-long turbine blades is presented. The book is intended for scientific-engineering personnel dealing with the problems of investigation, construction, and testing of turbomachines. It can also be used by advanced students specializing in power engineering. (Author)
