Abstract : The report describes measurements of current and voltage on InSb bars during pulses of about 10 nsec duration. The experiments were performed at 77 degrees K. The current-voltage characteristics shows a sudden reduction in voltage in the avalanche region at a certain current density. The main influence of a transverse magnetic field is to lower this threshold current. Also several jumps can occur at successively higher currents. (Author)
