Abstract : The aims of the present work was to estimate by electron-probe microanalysis the degree of solute depletion occurring in these alloys in the vicinity of the internal reaction front, to correlate this depletion semi-quantitatively with consequent thermo-e.m.f. drift, and to devise a method of achieving thermoelectric stability in nickel-base thermocouple alloys.
