Abstract : Isomeric states of stable nuclei have been excited by photons and electrons via short-lived higher states. The isomer excitation experiments were undertaken in order to determine the relationship between the total inelastic electron scattering cross section and the radiative width, and to use the isomer excitation function to determine the energies widths, and angular momenta of accessible states. The following isotopes were studied: strontium-87, rhodium-103, cadmium-111, indium-113, indium-115, tin-117, barium-135, barium-137, platinum-195, and mercury-199.
