Abstract : Electroconductivity of domestic 99.66 percent pure zirconium dioxide (RETU 606-59) stabilizedwith CaO (8-17.5 percent) was investigated at temperatures from 600 to 1000 degrees C. The sintering and stabilization processes were combined in one firing. The changes in electroconductivity with temperature and with the content of stabilizer are summarized. It was established that the highest specific electroconductivity at 1000 degrees C was exhibited by materials containing 12.5 percent of CaO, regardless of the type of compound used to introduce the stabilizer. In spite of the heterogeneous microstructure and the lower degree of saturation of the solid solution with the stabilizing oxide, the product containing 12.5 percent mole percent of CaO possesses very high electroconductivity. This may be caused by the greater density of the sintered material. (Author)
