Abstract : Noting the inapplicability of conventional hydrodynamic equations to the description of solid (for example, graphite) lubricants because of the anisotropy of their properties in various directions, the authors have proposed a method for the description of a black-lead lubricant in the lubricant layer of a cylindrical bearing; property anisotropy is considered by means of a viscosity vector using Stokes' approximation.
