Abstract : The textbook discusses the effect of the Earth's surface (curvature, surface roughness, soil nonuniformity, etc.) on the propagation of radio waves both near and far from the Earth. Also discussed are: the structure of the Earth's atmosphere (the troposphere, the outer and inner ionosphere, radiation belts), the radiophysical parameters of the atmosphere, the effect of the Earth's permanent magnetic field, and the propagation of radiowaves of various bands (especially ultrashort waves).
