Abstract : The purpose of the work was to study the acoustic interaction impedance among a few small transducers at a pressure-release (air-water) surface. Experiments were continued on measurements of the normalized radiation resistance for a small hairpin magnetostrictive-stack transducer at an air-water surface radiating into the water and near plane boundaries mounted in the water. An anechoic water tank with butyl-rubber wedges is used for the measurements. Measurements of the change in the electrical motional impedance diameter with change in acoustic loading allows one to determine the radiation resistance. (Author)
