Abstract : The report is directed toward consideration of specific ways by which airglow emissions can augment ground based radio wave propagation studies of the lower ionosphere. It is specifically concerned with demonstrating the manner in which selected airglow lines and bands provide a convenient means for monitoring those aeronomical processes which exert decisive control on the radio propagation environment. It is specifically shown how simultaneous airglow-radio experiments can augment our knowledge of the dynamics and chemistry which control both the D and E regions of the ionosphere. New findings are reported concerning the latitude cut-off of conjugate streaming photoelectrons. (Author)
