Abstract : Cascaded filters with a limited class of frequency response characteristics can be synthesized with three basic types of digital filters. The most interesting response is basically low pass with ripple in the stop band. The bandwidth and the peaks of the stop band ripple can be controlled by the proper selection of the number and length of filters in the cascade. (Author)
