Abstract : Twelve sample wall materials and 16 sample paint colors were evaluated to determine their reflectivity from ruby and neodymium lasers. Reflectivity measurements were referenced to the reflectivity of a MgO block as the 100% standard. The samples were measured normal to the incident beam and at incident angles from 15 degrees to 75 degrees. Results indicate that cinderblock tile is the wall material of choice. The paint colors, black, blue, and green, all show substantially lower reflectivities than the other samples. Reasons are given for preferring green over either black or blue. Suggestions are given for further laser reflectivity investigations. (Author)
