Abstract : This study deals with the effects of the additives BeO, ZrO 2 , ZnO in combinations and combined with Li2O, Fe2O3, B2O3 on the properties of glasses of the type MgO-CaO-SrO-Al2O3 minus SiO2. The increase in the chemical stability of the glasses and the increased strength of the fiberglass which results indirectly indicates structural strengthening and confirms the possibility of producing fiberglass of greater strength. The replacement of CaO and MgO by the additives lowers the temperature of the upper limit of crystallization, and this makes it possible to produce fiberglass of greater strength by ordinary technological methods.
